RE: | LAUC-I 1999/2000 Professional Development Funds |
Dear colleagues:
The LAUC-I professional development committee has established Tier 1 & Tier 2 funding levels for 1999/2000 Professional Development Funding.
All LAUC-I members are eligible for base funding of $267, and one Tier 1 or Tier 2 funding based on criteria.
Due to limited funds ONLY 1 tier funding request for each librarian can be approved. According to our current Professional Development Funding guidelines, Tier 2 funding is 2/3 the amount of Tier 1 funding. At this time there are 28 Tier 1 requests and 6 Tier 2 requests, we also have to reserve two Tier 1 allocation for the two new librarians (Head of Cataloging and University-School Outreach Librarian). This year's amount will be:
I have signed all the requests and forwarded them to Payroll & Personnel Office. I also copy Judy's Kaufman's earlier message about the paper route for funding requests with an addition of the 7th step.
If there should be any unencumbered funding near the end of the fiscal year, we will try to distribute that money according to our guidelines that, "all remaining funds will be divided equally among the librarians who have submitted a second request for Tier funding (in response to either Call)".
