1. A revised edition of the Criteria for Librarian Personnel Action (LAUC-I University of California, Irvine, Feb 19, 1998) was approved by the Executive Board at its March 1, 1999 meeting. The document has been posted on the LAUC-I Homepage.
The process to revise the Criteria was started in November 1997. A revised draft was prepared by the Committee in February 1998. The Executive Board endorsed the Committee's strategy to review the document by membership in April 1998. Discussions were held and revisions made through February 1999.
2. The Committee chair actively participated in the review of the Academic Personnel Procedures for Librarians. As a member of the task force appointed by Cathy Palmer, the Chair compiled membership comments on the draft prior to the LAUC-I meeting on April 12, 1999 which he facilitated and prepared a summary of the discussion (clarification, what's missing, procedural, philosophical, and editorial). The review timeline was from March 31 to May 3, 1999.
3. The Committee did not act on its suggestion to the Executive Board to meet with Gerry Munoff. Several other LAUC-I interactions with the University Librarian fulfilled that need.
