LAUC-I Cultural Diversity Committee

CHARGE:
According to the LAUC-I Handbook, the charges of the Cultural
Diversity Committee are to: "Address the issues of race,
class, disability and other factors that influence our work as
librarians and impact the Library. Serve as one of the resources
for the Library's diversity programs. Work with LAUC Cultural
Diversity Committee, LAUC-I committees and other groups within
the library and the university."
The charges for this academic year are:
- Elect the chair of the committee by October 31, 1996. Locke
Morrisey has been appointed as Chair of the LAUC Statewide Cultural
Diversity Committee. The committee shall meet at least quarterly
or more often as determined by the chair of the committee. (LAUC-I
Bylaws).
- Monitor University-wide Equal Opportunity and Diversity discussion.
Regular reporting to general membership meetings is encouraged.
- Continue implementation of 1996-98 Three-year plan.
- Work closely with the Program Committee to suggest program
ideas.
- Submit an annual report on August 1, 1997.
