The Year's Activities:

* LAUC-I Conference Update Brownbag, August 2, 1996. Members who had attended various professional conferences reportedon highlights.

* Halloween Party, October 31, 1996. Co-sponsored with the Library Staff Association, this Library-wide party also served to welcome our visiting American Library Association Fellow, Tukaram S. Kumbar.

* Holiday Charitable Gift Giving Project. Committee members coordinated collection of gifts and cash for two Orange County support facilities serving women and children victims of domestic violence.

* Sponsored the LAUC-I Spring Program: "Privacy, Security, and Ownership of Information in the Digital Age," April 25, 1996. Two speakers: John King, UCI Professor of Information and Computer Science, and Phil Agre, UCSD Professor of Communications. Held at the McDonnell Douglas Engineering Auditorium, the program attracted a campus-wide audience.
