Committee members were James E. Crooks, Carolyn Gottneid, Catherine Palmer, and John Sisson.
During this review period, twenty-four librarians were reviewed. The proposed actions included four librarians for promotions, sixteen librarians for merits or no actions, and four librarians for appointment. The Review Calendar changes this year provided an adequate window of time for our deliberations. Our recommendations were completed in record time. We salute the UCI librarians and the quality of their work effort. The LRC will be working more closely with Library Personnel this coming year as a result of the "Delegation of Authority to Approve Normal Merit Increases and No Action Reviews for Librarians" being delegated to the University Librarian. This pilot program will be evaluated in 1998. The Library Review Committee thanks the staff of the Office of Academic Affairs and the Library Personnel Office for their assistance. In particular, Jiwon Kim in Academic Affairs continues to be most helpful in expediting the work of the Committee.
