Daniel Greenstein is the Associate Vice Provost and University Librarian of the California Digital Library, and is the Chair of the OCA's Digital Preservation Working Group. He was previously director of the Digital Library Federation, based in Washington D.C. The DLF consists of 28 leading research libraries that are pioneering the use of electronic information technologies to extend their collections and services. Dr Greenstein’s academic career has included appointments
in Modern History at Glasgow University, director of the Glasgow University
Arts Faculty
Computing Facility, and founding director of the Arts and Humanities Data Service
of the United Kingdom. There he led the strategic and operational development
of a digital information service to support arts and humanities research and
teaching at higher education institutes in the UK. Building on this success,
he was named founding co-director of the UK Resource Discovery Network.
